On 27th November 2004 a conference named "meetBSD" took place
in Cracow, Poland. The conference was devoted to the BSD family operating
systems - more than 150 people were present on the lectures. Because
the organizers did not expect that so many people will be concerned
and interested in being on meetBSD - unfortunately - not all people
had a chance to be there as the number of seats was limited.
The lectures were executed by 9 tutors that are well known in Poland to be BSD
authorities and are a part of the polish BSD society. Not to mention, that the
lectures were understandable for both newbies and professionals, moreover, the
tutors gave a possibility of sharing views during their presentations - such
an operation involved a great atmosphere and forced people to discuss - we all
felt like playing in one team.
The main support of meetBSD conference was Proidea Foundation that took the
responsibility for maintaining the technical background. We cannot forget about
tutors that also helped and supported organizers - not only with their ideas.
With such support it was possible to organize meetBSD that was from both, educational
and organizational points of view, well prepared and executed.
The most important is that members, tutors and organizers were contented - there
was only one thing all people regreted: limited time, because many subjects
were not presented in all details and many questions still remained open. Let
such meetings be still organized, not only in Poland, but also all over the
world - that we wish to all BSD communities.
See you on meetBSD II :)
